Generally, the pipeline network pressure is between P1 (low pressure set) and P2 (high pressure set). Due to leakage of pipeline network or other reasons, P2 slowly drops to P1. Daily, the jockey pump will run to maintain the pressure between P1 and P2, minimizing the main pump starts. The start and stop of jockey pump is controlled by the signal from the pressure switch or pressure transmitter on the pipeline.
When the water consumption increases,and jockey pump is not able to maintain the basicline pressure P1 and quickly drops to P3, the electric pump will automatically start. The electric fire pump is as main fire pump to supply water and automatically started by the digital signal(l/O) by the pressure switch,flowmeter, alarm valve, pressure gauge and other sensors on pipeline.
When electricity supply stops or electric fire pump fails to start,the pressure continues dropping, then the diesel engine pump will be automatically started and pressure rises to supply water. The electric pump or diesel pump must be manually stopped after manual judgment.
The diesel engine fire pump has both manual and automatic control mode. Manual control is used for equipment inspection,maintenance,and on-site operation. The automatic control mode is operated by the integrated control cabinet or fire control center.
The EDJ packaged fire pump set is built around four standard configurations. All configurations use a stainless-steel multistage jockey pump for pressure maintenance, and can be customised to the pump-room layout.

· Maximum reliability / risk of grid outage → choose TEDJ (electric + diesel + jockey).
· No reliable mains power, or prolonged outage risk → choose TDJ (diesel + jockey).
· Reliable mains power only, no diesel required → choose TEJ or TEEJ.
· Confirm suction/discharge manifold size with the flow rate (see Section 6.5) and choose the matching pump type: horizontal single-stage end suction or horizontal double-suction.
· Confirm fuel tank capacity (100–2000 L, standard 6-hour operation) and battery backup with the selected diesel model.
· Always confirm medium, ambient conditions, altitude and pump-room dimensions with our engineers for a final recommendation.
