XBD-TQW
The XBD-TQW is a horizontal single-stage end suction fire pump with an axial suction inlet, radial discharge outlet and cantilever close-coupled construction. The impeller is mounted directly on the extended motor shaft, so the pump has no separate bearings — both radial and axial forces are carried by the motor bearings, and the pump and motor are bolted onto one common baseplate. The result is a compact footprint (about 30% less mounting space than conventional base-mounted horizontal pumps), simple alignment and low maintenance.
At the heart of modern manufacturing, our company stands as a beacon of innovation and excellence, proudly offering cutting-edge CNC laser cutting machines.
Our products are meticulously designed to meet the diverse needs of industries striving for precision, efficiency, and versatility.
Power curve peaks or flattens across the whole flow range, so the motor never overloads or burns out at any point from shut-off to 1.5× rated flow. Safe start-up even when the fire network pressure is low, and sustained operation beyond the 1.5× rated-flow point.
Motor and pump share one baseplate with B35 flange mounting. Axial inlet / radial outlet, horizontal shaft. Cuts installation space by ~30% versus conventional horizontal pumps.
Back pull-out (top pull-out for vertical fire pump) design lets the rotating assembly be removed for service without disturbing the pump body or the pipe connections.
SS304 impeller and shaft as standard (bronze impeller optional), mechanical seal with SIC-C / EPDM faces, casing in HT200 / QT400 cast iron.
One series covers large firewater flows from 10 to 130 L/s with heads from 20 to 165 m — enough for fire hydrant, sprinkler and water spray systems in most industrial and commercial buildings.
Available as a bare pump or as a complete fire pump unit (pump + motor + controller / fire pump package) to match project requirements.
The XBD-TQW series covers the working range of most fixed fire protection systems. Custom voltage / frequency and low-speed (1450 rpm) versions are available on request.

Both types are common in fire protection. The right choice depends on flow, head and building height. The XBD-TQW single-stage end suction design is the economic and reliable answer for large-flow, low-to-medium-head fixed fire systems.
Comparison | XBD-TQW — Horizontal Single-Stage End Suction | Multistage Fire Pump (e.g. XBD-DW) |
|---|---|---|
Impeller | One impeller; axial inlet, radial discharge, cantilever close-coupled | Multiple impellers in series within one casing |
Typical Head | 20 – 165 m per stage — ideal for most buildings & plants | Much higher heads (150 – 400+ m) for super high-rise risers |
Typical Flow | High flow up to 130 L/s at good efficiency | Low-to-medium flow; flow falls as stages are added |
Efficiency at high flow | Higher — one large impeller, fewer hydraulic losses | Lower at large flows — multi-stage friction losses |
Footprint & layout | Compact horizontal unit on one baseplate, low profile | Vertical multistage saves floor area but is tall; horizontal multistage is long |
Maintenance | Top pull-out; rotating parts removed without disturbing piping | Stage disassembly usually required; more wearing rings & seals |
Non-overload behaviour | Full-flow non-overload curve as standard | Depends on model; check curve |
Best-fit systems | Fixed fire protection: fire hydrant, automatic sprinkler, water spray, deluge in industrial & civil buildings | High-rise & super high-rise fire risers, high-head booster duty |
Rule of thumb | Choose when flow demand is large and head ≤ ~1.6 MPa | Choose when the required head is beyond single-stage capability |
The XBD-TQW is first and foremost a fixed fire protection pump. It transports clean water and liquids physically and chemically similar to water, up to 80 °C, with no solid particles (slightly corrosive liquids can be handled with suitable materials).
